On Thursday evening, November 12, led by Darrell Gerke, our club served 100 free take-out meals at Zion Lutheran Church in Landisville.
Several times a year, the Lancaster-Hempfield Rotary Club serves a meal to our community at the Zion Lutheran Church in Landisville. Darrell Gerke organizes and purchases the food, which is prepared by members in the church kitchen. Ten members, plus some spouses, cooked, packed, and ran the meals out to many hungry members of our community who drove up to the Church. We typically serve 30-40 at a sit-down meal, but due to the pandemic, the church has appropriately switched to take-out. We are proud to partner with the church for this important community service project.
