On Saturday, July 16, the Club held its second annual Chicken Barbecue fundraiser under the capable direction of Tracy Sieger.
Who doesn't like chicken barbecue? Over 300 meals were sold on Saturday, July 16, during the second annual event held by the club. Once again, Tracy Sieger led a group of club members (and one guest from another club-none other than Tom Sieger!) to sort and serve out the meals on a drive-through. The parking lot at UPMC's building on Marietta Ave. smelled like chicken and was filled with the smiles of Rotarians and their customers. Proceeds will help to fund many club projects, such as the Community Meals at Zion Lutheran Church in Landisville, honoring Students of the Month from Hempfield High, and our new fundraiser, supplying decodable readers to the Hempfield Elementary Schools to help those students struggling to read.
